Perform a mini SWOT analysis on the issue you are trying to resolve (or even your proposed solution to that issue).

Don't over think it, simply jot down what comes to mind in these four headings and spend most of your time determining what to do with these observations. This simple approach can show you where to direct your effort and highlight items you may have overlooked.
