What’s in a Name?

I got to illustrate another article written by Richard Lederer! I love this guy’s work - and collaborating Hilary (the Bulletin’s Art Director) is always so much fun…

I decided to include some of the process sketches that happened during this assignment. Turn-around was quick, but the concept for this one remained fairly intact from start to finish. Richard was pointing out that there is absolutely no pig meat in a “ham”burger. That line inspired the idea that if two pigs were dining at a restaurant (yes, stay with me here!) then one might be mistakenly appalled at the seemingly cannibalistic choice of entrées by their fellow diner.
